The GradDipEmergMgt is designed for students who wish to broaden their knowledge in both disaster prevention and management. In its broadest sense, emergency management focuses on the organisation of communities to respond to disasters, to survive them, to rebuild social structures and infrastructure, and to sustain and preserve life.
Entry requirements
A university degree or an approved qualification and sufficient background, qualifications or experience in civil defence, and admission to Postgraduate Study.

Programme structure
120 credits of which at least 60 credits are at 700 level, and not more than 30 credits at 200 level. 130.705 is compulsory, at least 30 credits must be selected from 130.701 or 130.702, and the remaining 60 credits from the following list of which no more than 30 credits can be from 200-level papers.
Distinction
Students who complete within one year of first enrolling for full-time study or within three years of first enrolling for part-time study may be eligible for Distinction.
